Onlyasystemadministratorcanset,change,orremoveasupervisorpassword.Toset,change,orremovea
supervisorpassword,dothefollowing:
1.Restartthecomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,pressF1tostarttheThinkPadSetupprogram.
2.SelectSecurity➙Password➙SupervisorPasswordbyusingthedirectionalkeys.
3.Dependingonyourneeds,dooneofthefollowing:
•Tosetapassword,dothefollowing:
a.IntheEnterNewPasswordeld,typeadesiredpasswordandpressEnter.
b.IntheConrmNewPasswordeld,retypethepasswordandpressEnter.
•Tochangeapassword,dothefollowing:
a.IntheEnterCurrentPasswordeld,typethecurrentsupervisorpasswordandpressEnter.
b.IntheEnterNewPasswordeld,typethenewsupervisorpasswordandpressEnter;thenretype
thepasswordintheConrmNewPasswordeldandpressEnter.
•Toremoveapassword,dothefollowing:
a.IntheEnterCurrentPasswordeld,typethecurrentsupervisorpasswordandpressEnter.
b.LeavetheEnterNewPasswordandConrmNewPasswordeldsblank.PressEntertwice.
4.ASetupNoticewindowisdisplayed.PressEntertocontinue.
5.PressF10.ASetupConrmationwindowisdisplayed.SelectYestosavethecongurationchanges
andexittheThinkPadSetupprogram.
Note:Youmightwanttorecordyourpasswordandstoreitinasafeplace.Thenexttimeyouopenthe
ThinkPadSetupprogram,youwillbepromptedtotypeyoursupervisorpasswordtoproceed.Ifyouforget
yoursupervisorpassword,Lenovocannotresetyourpassword.YoumusttakeyourcomputertoaLenovo
reselleroraLenovomarketingrepresentativetohavethesystemboardreplaced.Proofofpurchaseis
