Solution:
–UseCategory5wiringandmakesurethatthenetworkcableissecurelyconnected.
–Connecttoa1000BASE-Thub/switch(not1000BASE-X).
•Problem:TheWakeOnLANfeatureisnotworking.
Solution:EnsurethatWakeOnLANisenabledinThinkPadSetup.Ifitis,checkwithyourLAN
administratorforthenecessarysettings.
•Problem:MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,butthecomputercannotconnecttothenetworkat
1000Mbps.Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.
Solution:
–Tryanothercable.
–Makesurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.
–Makesurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).
AwirelessLANproblem

Solution:Makesurethat:
•YourwirelessLANdriveristhelatestversion.
•Yourcomputeriswithinrangeofawirelessaccesspoint.
•Thewirelessradioisenabled.
Note:IfyouareusingtheWindows7operatingsystem,clickShowhiddeniconsonthetaskbar.The
AccessConnectionsiconisdisplayed.Formoreinformationabouttheicon,refertotheAccessConnections
helpinformationsystem.
FortheWindows7operatingsystem,checktheNetworkName(SSID)andyourencryptioninformation.Use
theAccessConnectionsprogramtoverifythiscase-sensitiveinformation.
AwirelessWANproblem
Problem:AmessageisdisplayedindicatingthatanunauthorizedWANcardisinstalled.
Solution:TheWANcardisnotsupportedonthiscomputer.RemovetheWANcard.

Bluetoothproblems
