FaxFinder Configuration Guide: 3Com NBX PBX Systems
17
Testing Observations
When the FaxFinder is authenticated to an SMTP and Time server and the PBX routing is setup, the
phonebook routes incoming DTMF digits to email addresses, and all faxes are routed to the correct
recipients. Outgoing faxes work when the PBX routing digits are setup for faxing outside the PBX to local
Telco fax numbers. Internal faxing to direct extensions do not require PBX routing prefix to an outside line.
• Consult with Email Administrator if there are SMTP errors.
• Confirm that the mail server supports SMTP.
• Confirm if User Name and Password are required on the SMTP server.
• Consult with Network Administrator if there are NTP errors.
• Confirm your DNS settings on the FaxFinder and try alternate NTP servers.
