Safety Warnings
Use this product only with UL- and CUL-listed computers.
To reduce the risk of fire, use only 26 AWG or larger telephone wiring.
Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
Never install a telephone jack in a wet location unless the jack is
specifically designed for wet locations.
Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electri-
cal storm. There may be a remote risk of electrical shock from lightning.
Do not use a telephone in the vicinity of a gas leak.
Step 1: Place the Modem
Place the modem near your computer. You can use either plastic feet
or hook-and-loop patches to mount it. To apply the feet, peel them off
the backing strip, and press them into the recesses on the bottom of
the modem. Alternately, or additionally, you can use the included self-
adhesive hook-and-loop patches to mount the modem to a vertical surface
or to keep it from being dislodged on a horizontal surface. If you use
the hook-and-loop patches, we recommend that you mount them where
they will not obscure the labels or screws on the bottom of the modem.
