Self Monitor
The Self Monitoring function ensures the integrity of the RouteFinder system and informs the administrator of important
events by email. Self Monitoring controls the function, performance, and security of the system parameters and takes
regulating measures when it detects divergences that go beyond a certain tolerance. The system administrator then receives
a report via email.
Self Monitoring considerably reduces maintenance, as manual intervention becomes almost obsolete, resulting in less work
for the administrator.
The RouteFinder’s Self Monitoring function ensures that the central services (e.g., the RouteFinder MiddleWare daemon, the
Syslog daemon, the HTTP proxy, or the network accounting daemon) function smoothly. The access rights to files are
controlled, as is the individual process’ share of consumption of the system resources. This prevents any possible
RouteFinder overload. The administrator is also notified of any possible future resource shortage, such as a hard disk
running low on space.
If no entries are displayed your RouteFinder is stable.
Click the Self Monitor Live Log button to open the report, which provides a record of the processes that have been
restarted due to possible abnormal termination.
