3.6 Guidelines for Correct Results with GNSS Surveys

Undisturbed

satellite signal

reception

Successful GNSS surveys require undisturbed satellite signal reception, especially at

the instrument which serves as a base. Set up the instrument in locations which are

free of obstructions such as trees, buildings or mountains.

Steady antenna for

static surveys

For static surveys, the antenna must be kept perfectly steady throughout the whole

occupation of a point. Place the antenna on a tripod or pillar.

Centred and

levelled antenna

Centre and level the antenna precisely over the marker.
