Note:Ifyouremovethebasecoverassemblywhenyourcomputerhasthebatterypackinstalledoris
connectedtoacpower,theremightbeariskofshortcircuits.Besides,thecomputerwillnotstartafter
youreinstallthebasecoverassembly.Tostartthecomputer,disconnecttheacpoweradapterandthen
reconnectittothecomputer.
InstallingorreplacingtheSIMcard
Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.
SIMcardisasmallplasticcardwithanIntegratedCircuit(IC)chipmountedononesideofthecard.
IfyourcomputersupportswirelessWANconnections,yourcomputermightrequireaSIMcardtoestablish
wirelessWANconnections.Dependingonthecountryorregionofdelivery,youmightneedtopurchase
aSIMcardoraSIMcardmightalreadybeinstalledinyourcomputerorispartoftheshippingcontents
thatcomewithyourcomputer.
ToinstallorreplacetheSIMcard,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer,thendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.
2.Removethebatterypack.See“Replacingthebatterypack”onpage63.
3.LocatetheSIMcardslotinsidethebatterycompartment.IftherealreadyisaSIMcardintheslot,gently
pullthecardoutoftheslot.
