+CMGF Message Format

Description: This command selects the preferred message format. The message formats supported are:

Text mode

PDU mode

Syntax:

Command Responses

Action Command:

AT+CMGF<mode>

Read Command:

AT+CMGF?

+CMGF: <mode>

Test Command:

AT+CMGF=?

+CMGF: (list of supported <mode>s)

Values: <mode> Text Mode or PDU Mode

0 PDU mode

1 Text mode. Default

Parameter Storage: The <mode> parameter is stored in EEPROM using the AT+CSAS command. The

default can be restored using AT&F.

Note: Current message format

+CMGF: 1

Note: Text mode

AT+CMGF=?

Note: Possible message format

+CMGF: (0,1)

Note: Text or PDU modes are available

AT+CMGF=0

Note: Set PDU mode

+CMGL List Messages

Description: This command allows the application to read stored messages by indicating the type of the

message to read. The messages are read from the memory selected by the +CPMS

command.

Syntax: Depending on the mode, several responses are possible:

For SMS-DELIVER or SMS-SUBMIT and Text Mode:

AT+CMGL=<stat>

+CMGL: <index>,<stat>,<da/oa>,[<alpha>], [<scts>, <tooa/toda>,

[+CMGL: <index>,<stat>,<da/oa>,[<alpha>],[<scts>,<tooa/toda>,

For SMS-STATUS-REPORT and Text Mode:
